

We are intermediaries between authors and their anticipated readership. Editors and proofreaders can play an essential role in this.Challenging books and other published materials that perpetuate racism and other misrepresentations and stereotypes, intentionally or otherwise, is a vital part of that. Like millions around the world, the Council of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) has been shocked and deeply saddened by the Russian government's attack on Ukraine and its people.
